Coming back and moving forward

I asked my daughter today if, when she turned 18, she would want to read about my story and my journey through divorce and beyond.  She told me yes. 

So this blog will be an attempt to digest my story so that my kids have an accounting of what happened from my perspective.  I’m hoping to focus on my growth through this entire process. 

The events I recount are true to my experience. I’ll be taking my journal entries and rewriting them for publishing and backdating where necessary. I’m removing names and as many identifying details as I can. 

The purpose of this is twofold. Giving me somewhere to digest my experiences and giving my kids a place where they can know what occurred. I’m doing my best to use this as a self journey and to become a better version of myself. 
I will do my best to add entries somewhat consistently yet I’m also going to be living my life. 
There has been nothing easy about this journey so far. Growth is painful and ongoing. 
I have to find a way to empower myself through this journey and that has been a struggle given all the things occurring that are beyond my control.  Our journeys rarely are given to us in ways we can predict but they are always tools that have the potential to let us grow in ways we never even thought possible.
